Q. Will my signals flash faster after installing Gregg’s Custom Flushmounts?
A. Whenever you replace the stock incandescent bulbs with LED’s. The flash rate will increase. There is a variance between bike brands and your choice of rear signals also greatly affects the flash rate. When running our LED’s in the front and rear, there is very little increase in flash rate. When running an integrated LED taillight or small 194 bulb signals in the rear, the flash rate can be quite rapid.
Q. How can I slow my fast flash rate
A. There are a few different ways to slow the flashing. You can buy an adjustable flasher relay such as the Libertek or the Trick Flasher. Or you can simply install some load resistors. Radio Shack P.N. 271-120 will work or any 20 watt min. 8 ohm min. load resistor. See the installation page for installation info.
Q. How close of a match are the housing colors?
A. We use powdercoating to put the color on our billet aluminum housings. This is much more durable than paint. We have the powder coat made to match the factory colors as closely as possible. We are usually able to get a very close match. If we cannot get a good match, we will not offer that particular color.
Q. Do I need to cut my fairings to install the signals?
A. NO! There is no cutting or grinding of the fairing needed. The new signals will clamp into place with the supplied stainless steel hardware. Are signals are made specifically for each bike so they are a perfect fit every time.
Q. Do the signals come with the factory plug in connectors?
A. Unfortunately we have not been able to source the factory connectors. These a brand specific and seem to be proprietary, although we have been searching for the factory connectors, we have not been able to get them. You will need to cut the factory connector off you stick turn signals. Our signals come with Mil. Spec butt connectors so you can splice the connector onto the new signals.
